Mac Quad Palette

I thought it was about time I shared my Mac Quad eyeshadow palette with you, as this is a pivotal part of my makeup bag and it never leaves my side, I use this palette most days and every time I go out.

Im going to go through the colours and what I use them for individually, but first I wanted to explain why I chose these colours in particular. If you're not familiar with Macs eye shadow palette's then its pretty simple, you pick the 4 colours you want and they get put into one amazing palette. I picked these colours as it allows my the flexibility to do both a brown and black smokey eye.

1. Shroom- this is one of favourite Mac colours, its a nude shimmery base colour, perfect for a natural look by itself in the day but also an essential for the inner corner and building with darker colours to create a smokey eye and contouring.

2. Bronze Down- This is a shimmery slate grey colour and I love it, it is perfect if you really want to work in blacks and create a really dark smokey eye, I either use this on the outer corners or all over the lid and use a black blended in on the outside.

3, Coppering- This is probably the colour I use least because its quite strong colour that you have to be in the mood to wear, however when I do wear it I get so many compliments. It's my go to colour if I want to do something quite different or am feeling adventurous with my makeup.

4. Bronze- I love contouring with this colour- its such a beautiful golden brown and its the colour I use most when I want to create a  brown smokey eye, I would say its my standard evening eye shadow. I feel a bit lost if I don't have this to hand when I'm getting ready to go out.

Another Mac colour I love that isn't in this palette is Woodwinked, It's a lovely gold colour that I wear during the day time, and once blended in the corners it gives the effect of a darker colours on the outside. Check out the Mac's website to make your own palette.

I'm sorry my style diaries didn't go up, my camera had a bit of a melt down and I lost all my pictures, along with starting a new job its been difficult to get things back up and running but I'm back in action now, so expect lots more!

Hot right now

I'm always looking for new and emerging make up companies that make great products and finally I have found one! Kiko is an italian make-up company that I found when I was on holiday in Rome (my hotel just happened to be above the store!). The store was amazing, with so much going on and so many products to look at, after much choice I settled on 3 products:

1. Bronze/Gold eyeshadow stick- This stuff is seriously amazing, its a cream stick that hardens and turns to a powdery consistency when on the eye so it doesn't gather in the crease. The best thing about the product is it lasts all day and even into the evening as the colour is super pigmented.

2. Trio blusher- The colour is amazing and I like the fact that you get 3 colours in one, meaning you can make the colour as light or as pigmented as you want. I also think the packaging is really cool and stylish.

3. Powder eyeshadow- I also bought a dark coffee powder eye shadow, I have used it for shading to create a smokey eye, again the pigmenting is amazing and the colour lasts all day.

You can order online and they have their full range of products available! Check it out, it will be your new favourite brand.

New Year, New you?

New year comes with many new years resolutions but this year why not re-vamp your makeup bag? It's a common mistake to keep makeup for a long period of time without replacing it or throwing it away. But like other products, many don't realise that cosmetics do have sell-buy dates and should be updated. So why not clear out your make-up bag,  out with the old and treat yourself to something new, updating key items in your make-up bag will not only give your makeup a boost but will also make your face feel fresher.  Like anything, the skin gets used to certain products and sometimes looks brighter with a change.  If there is one thing I recommend to update your make-up bag this month its 'High Beam' by Benefit (£18.50), this has been a key item of my make-up bag for many years and always makes my make-up look flawless. Use to both enhance cheek bones and highlight under the eyebrows by patting onto the skin after make-up.
